Warm-ups are an absolute necessity for the type of workout that the students will be seeing today
Warm-ups continue
Warm-ups are necessary in even the shortest class to reduce the likelihood of
injury in the form of pulled muscles and sprains
Forms Testing Begins
Since we go through each form up to our highest ranked student present (4th Dan
typically) this can be a long process

Master Tinnon addresses the students
It's important to remember that while all of the students that participate in
the blackbelt test are usually higher ranked and experienced, it is necessary to
reiterate rules and the importance of safety. Since most participants are
concentrating on their techniques rather than the room injury is a very real
possibility so the not so gentle reminders to pay attention to others is
necessary. even the simplest and most basic techniques can cause serious injury
when done by someone of blackbelt caliber.
One Steps
Ashley Harris does her Brown Belt one steps. Ashley has been one of the more
active students in tournaments in 2008, winning numerous trophies and medals.
Her tournament season included placing 3rd in both forms and sparring in her
division in the TKD Nationals this year.
Sparring
Pictured above in the foreground is
blackbelt candidate Sheila Llanderal sparring against Rebekah Wetter. Ms.
Llanderal is one of our more active colored belts. She is a great addition to
our instructional staff.
All of the pads worn in sparring testing are WTF TKD approved. Again it is
necessary to reiterate safety when it comes to contact sparring to reduce the
possibility of injury.
