Tae literally translates to "foot," or "kick"

Kwon  means "hand," or "punch" and
      Do  means "art" or "way."

Taekwondo is the art of feet and hands, or, simply put, the art of self-defense.

There are five universal tenets in Taekwondo:

  • Courtesy
  • Integrity
  • Perseverance
  • Self-Control
  • Indomitable Spirit
